Inverawe lies on the A83, 80 miles north of Glasgow on the west coast, just 15 miles inland from Oban between the villages of Loch Awe village and Taynuilt. As Inverawe is slightly out of the village, a car is the most practical form of transport!

 

How to find us

BY ROAD

From the North, Fort William: follow the A82 coastal route from Fort William to Connel. At Ballhulish go over the bridge and take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A828 coastal road to Connel. At Connel go over the bridge and turn right onto the A85 to Taynuilt. Follow the road for 5 miles past Taynuilt. Carry on for 2 miles to the Bridge of Awe. Just over the bridge turn left to Inverawe Country Park (it is clearly signposted). If you get to the filling station you have gone too far. Follow the signs to the car park. The shop will have the keys to your cottage.

From the A9, Stirling: coming off the A9 at the Crianlarich junction, follow the A84/A85 road signposted to Crianlarich through Doune, Callander, Strathyre, Lochearnhead, Crianlarich, Tyndrum. At Tyndrum turn left to Oban on the A85, passing through Dalmally, Lochawe, the Pass of Brander, until you come to the Bridge of Awe with a filling station and caravan park just before on the left. Go another 100 yards then turn right just before the bridge to Inverawe Country Park (it is clearly signposted). If you get to Taynuilt you have gone too far. Follow the signs to the car park. The shop will have the keys to your cottage

From the M8 Glasgow: come off the M8 at the Erskine bridge junction 30. Go over the bridge and keep left onto the A82 to Crianlarich. At Tarbet bear left onto the A83 to Arrochar and Inverarary. At Inverarary turn right under the arch onto the A819. Carry on for 20 miles till you get to a T junction. Turn Left onto the A85 through Lochawe, the Pass of Brander, until you come to the Bridge of Awe, with a filling station and caravan park just before on the left. BY RAIL

There is a twice daily train service from Glasgow Queens Street to Taynuilt.

BY BUS

Buses run from Glasgow, Queens Street and stop at our road end at Cruachan Filling Station, Bridge of Awe. See the Citylink bus timetables.

Glasgow Airport is within a 2 hour drive
